28.12.2024 Bucharest – Frankfurt - Lisbon

Presentation at Bucharest-Otopeni Henri Coanda Airport at 03:00 AM and boarding flight LH1423 departing at 06:00 to Frankfurt. Arrival in Frankfurt at 07:45 local time, passing through the transit area and boarding flight LH1166 to Lisbon, departing at 09:25 local time. Arrival in Lisbon at 11:40 local time (-2 hours from Romania). Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation at the IBEROSTAR SELECTION LISBOA 5* hotel in the center of Lisbon.

29.12.2024 Lisbon – Included panoramic city tour and optional new Lisbon tour

Breakfast. Departure for the panoramic city tour of Lisbon (approx. 4 hours) with the Romanian group leader. The panoramic tour includes a visit to the Belem Quarter with its most beautiful historical monuments from the 15th-16th centuries, a short stop at the Belem Tower – a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Jeronimos Monastery, a masterpiece of the "Manueline" style. A brief stop is made to visit the monastery church and to buy a coffee “uma bica” and a “pastel de nata” – a traditional Portuguese dessert, followed by a visit to the Alfama Quarter, where we will visit the Church of St. Anthony of Lisbon, who is the same as St. Anthony of Padua.

The route includes the most important squares of the city: Praca Rossio, Praca Restauradores, Praca do Comercio. After the included tour, you can optionally continue, for a minimal extra fee, with a tour of the new area of Lisbon, built for the World Expo in 1998. 30.12.2024 Lisbon - Optional excursion to Sintra–Cabo da Roca–Cascais–Estoril

Breakfast. Free time or optional excursion (8 hours) to Sintra-Cabo Da Roca–Cascais-Estoril. The tour begins with a visit to Sintra, the former summer residence of the royal family, with the option to visit the National Palace (entrance optional) or, if time permits, an optional visit to Pena Palace – located on a hill and being the most beautiful and colorful palace in the area. Explanations will be given outside the museums. The route continues to Cabo da Roca - the westernmost point of continental Europe, where you can purchase, for a fee, a certificate confirming your visit to this important geographical point. The journey continues to Boca do Infierno and to the famous Cascais – a fishing “village” with beautiful coves guarded by cliffs, offering a magnificent panorama of the Atlantic Ocean. 31.12.2024 Lisbon - Optional excursion to Azeitao, Sesimbra, and Setubal, local wine tasting - Optional New Year’s Eve Festive Dinner

Breakfast. Optional excursion in the region south of Lisbon. Visit to Sesimbra - a typical fishing town, guarded by a medieval castle from the 12th century. Not far from Sesimbra is Cape Espichel. The journey continues through the Arrabida Mountains and the city of Setubal, where stunning views of the ocean can be admired. The city is filled with parks, terraces, and restaurants, and one of the most interesting buildings is the Church of St. Julian. 01.01.2025 Lisbon – Optional excursion to Obidos – Nazare - Fatima - Fado Evening

Breakfast. Optional day excursion (8 hours) - Obidos - Nazare – Fatima. Visit to the medieval town of Obidos, with white houses and wrought iron balconies where you can taste the famous ginginha (cherry liqueur) from small chocolate cups, after which the route continues to Nazare – a fishing village known for the layered skirts of its local women. The highlight of the excursion is the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima - the most famous pilgrimage site in Portugal, where several apparitions of the Virgin Mary took place in 1917. In the evening, we propose, optionally, “An Evening of Fado,” the soul music of the Portuguese. You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the heart of Fado singers – descendants of Queen Amalia Rodrigues, in a tranquil atmosphere.
