Useful Information Specific to Traveling to Athens

- Athens is Greece's largest metropolis, one of Europe's oldest cities, with the Acropolis included in the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1987.

- Athens benefits from a well-organized transport system including buses, trolleybuses, trams, and a metro network built in the 1990s. Even if you don't use the metro, visit the central stations, which are free museums displaying artifacts found during excavations.

- For dining, don't miss out on the restaurants, tavernas, cafes, and especially the pastry shops in central Athens. They offer a variety of delicious and appetizing dishes at reasonable prices (in euros). After a night out at Buzoukia in the Plaka or Monastiraki neighborhoods, enjoy a fresh, steaming bowl of tripe soup at the Fish Market on Atena Street and sample a wide variety of olives and fresh oranges.

Useful Information

- You must arrive at the airport for the meeting with the representative/tour leader 2-3 hours before the announced departure time, depending on the season and final information! Presentation of the plane ticket at boarding is mandatory! Allowed baggage for travel – 23 kg checked baggage and max. 8 kg hand luggage per passenger.

- Accuracy of names and personal details of travelers is the responsibility of the intermediary agency/agent who made the reservation; any changes are charged €25/alteration/reservation.

- Rooms are allocated by the reception, and check-in on the first day and check-out on the last day depend on the hotel's hourly policy and current availability (generally, check-in is after 14:00, and check-out is by 12:00).

- Some hotels allow children up to 12 years old to sleep in the parents' bed and thus offer free accommodation or a significant discount.

- The type of room should be requested at registration. Note! A double (matrimonial) bed may consist of two single beds joined together in some hotels. The third bed can vary by hotel: single bed, folding bed, or sofa.

- Some hoteliers require deposits and extra payments for using room facilities (e.g., minibar/fridge, safe, air conditioning) unless otherwise stated. We recommend that tourists ask for details about these extra costs at the hotel reception upon check-in; some 4 and 5-star hotels require a cash or card deposit, refundable/unblocked upon check-out. These amounts are blocked to guarantee the payment for hotel facilities.

- All accommodation units and transport services are classified by the competent authorities of the destination countries, according to their internal procedures and local regulations, which differ from country to country.

- Important! Festive meals offered on special occasions or holidays (Easter, Christmas, New Year's) abroad are different from traditional Romanian ones, both in menu and duration and entertainment.

Guide/ Tour Leader Services

Cocktail Holidays ensures a tour leader throughout the circuit or a local Romanian-speaking representative. They will oversee that all services are in accordance with the program presented at registration. In case of non-compliance with the purchased program, the tour leader will make every effort to address the issues on-site.

The local authorized Greek guide will provide explanations during the included tour and optional excursions.

Transportation

- ATTENTION! Air tickets are non-refundable and cannot be changed after issuance.

- For packages including air transport (regular or charter flights), the organizing travel agency is not responsible for any changes in departure and arrival times. If the carrier is at fault for these delays, it will provide assistance to tourists according to EC Regulation 261/2004 of the European Parliament. The first and last days of the stay are dedicated to traveling to/from the destination.

- Departure and arrival times can change; they are subject to confirmation according to the carrier's schedule. The schedule will be announced at least 14 days before departure and included in the travel documents.

Important Information

- The package does not include health or travel insurance, which we strongly recommend purchasing.

- Travel insurance is mandatory. It is recommended to cover the risks of holiday cancellation insurance, accident insurance, luggage, and medical assistance abroad.

- For more information, contact your agent.

Cultural Reminder

- Greece is part of the Schengen Area. Romanian citizens need an identity card valid for at least six months. Entry into Greece is free of visa requirements for Romanian citizens with a valid ID card.
